Aelson Cacique — Founder & Creative Director
Aelson, aka Al, has flowers in his blood. He grew up in São Paulo, at the feet of his parents...a Brazilian mother and half-French father in their floral shop. There, he developed the knowledge and skill to make him a world-class floral designer. His life-long dream of living in New York City finally came to be in 1989.
He spent a number of years working at some of the best floral design companies in the city, building a reputation for his professionalism, unique style, and efficiency. Finally in 2008, he launched his own floral design company, Fleurs du Mois, so he could provide the level of customer service and floral creativity he felt was lacking in New York City.
Today, Fleurs du Mois is an accomplished floral design company with a number of high profile clients. Al prides himself in providing personal service and customized floral solutions for any sized event. Every client is unique, every client is special, every client is valuable.
Jay Riether — Partner
Jay's background is varied. He began in textbook publishing, and then moved on to website design working as Creative Director for Medscape. Both jobs taught him the value of paying attention to detail and staying organized. He moved into consulting work and co-owner of a design firm, which further improved his creativity. Finally he was a very successful Manager at Tourneau, overseeing the sale of pre-owned luxury watches, which polished his customer service skills.
At Fleurs du Mois, Jay brings his creativity and eye for design along with an analytical, organized mind. He primarily handles most of the logistics at the company as well as managing the website. He is singularly focused on the client experience...making sure every client big or small gets the same white-glove treatment. At the end of the day, none of it matters if the client isn't happy.
These are some familiar faces you may see from time to time helping out. They're just the tip of the iceberg, really. We're blessed to work with a whole cadre of talented people as the occassion warrants.
Douglas Moreira — Production & Events
Douglas is a huge help with events and day to day operations. He was born and raised in the city of São Paulo and always had a deep connection with people, music, and nature. He started his career in his early twenties in customer service where he had the opportunity to live abroad in Europe and the US and developed great cultural and interpersonal skills. Uniting these aspects, NYC is the perfect place on earth, and in between all the bricks and tall buildings he found the world of flowers where he's been developing his artistic creative skills since 2016.

Tamiris is our latest addition, and she's learning the ropes very quickly. She's a huge help with preparation, our weekly accounts, and events.
Katie Nelson — Sales & Events
Katie has her hands full with a bouncing baby boy; but she assists with sales, client relations, and events when time allows.
